Irvine, CA – May 9, 2025 – GATC Health Corp, a leading tech-bio company leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to transform drug discovery, is pleased to announce that Tyrone Lam, Chief Business Officer, and Jayson Uffens, Chief Technology Officer, participated as presenter and panelist, respectively, on April 30 at Drug Discovery World’s AI & ML Summit, “Navigating AI-Driven Drug Discovery.”

During the event, Tyrone Lam shared insights (timecode 42:29) into how GATC Health’s proprietary AI platform is transforming the drug discovery process by dramatically increasing the speed and accuracy of drug candidate creation or identification—both of its own assets and by collaboration with biopharma partners. The platform leverages advanced machine learning to analyze vast biological datasets and identify drug candidate success or failure with independently verified test results of 91% for the specificity (true positive) and 86% for the sensitivity. The company’s uniquely powerful AI platform substantially de-risks scientific, business, and investment decisions while increasing asset value by shortening discovery and development timelines, driving down costs and increasing likelihood of success.

The event also featured a panel of industry experts, including Mark Hammond, Founding Director at Deep Science Ventures, Yochi Slonim, Co-founder and CEO of Anima Biotech and GATC Health’s CTO, Jayson Uffens.

The panel addressed several key topics, including how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) can address unmet needs in drug discovery and development, bring therapies to market, impact drug discovery pipelines, and overcome barriers. GATC Health’s Jayson Uffens (timecode 04:36) addressed the interdisciplinary use of technology for AI in drug discovery, and particularly how things like multiomics approaches have become so important to aid our understanding of biological processes.

“As we all know, human bodies are complex and interconnected. Biological systems don't operate in isolation. Instead, there are complex interactions from genes to proteins to metabolites that all influence each other,” explained Uffens. “And there has been a tremendous amount of research into all these areas and into how to process them with computer systems. This work shouldn't be overlooked, but modern technologies will continually push these boundaries and try to raise the bar, and we really look at which of these bars we're trying to clear, which of these biases we're trying to remove, which data sets are ultimately valuable. We think that finding the highest value leads out of this complexity can be better found by AI technologies and fed to experts in superior collaboration processes. You know, we want smart machines that make smart people smarter, that are focused on results for humans in the clinic.”

GATC Health’s participation at this prominent industry event underscores its commitment to revolutionizing drug discovery through cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions.
